Local gem. The coconut shrimp were outstanding! Very friendly staff. Great stop for lunch or dinner only a few blocks from the port.

Great local restaurant away from all the tourist traps and American chains on the waterfront. Highly recommend the coconut shrimp and the shrimp burrito. Free tortillas and guacamole were a nice touch. The prices on their website are wrong, it's 500 pesos per person for the Platter, we initially went there for that but was too expensive for us so we got other things in the end. Would return though, it was super yummy.

Atmosphere is in the eye of the beholder, Casita de Indio is on a busy Avnienda, 20th, and is open walled on 2 sides, so there is traffic noise. If you want a realistic real MX neighborhood experience it is great, if you want a fancy dining room, not so much. The food, service and prices were great. Very friendly family runs it, waiter spoke passable English. Very nice LOCAL restaurant, not a "tourist" restaurant. Coconut and al diabla shrimp were great. The coconut shrimp were very fresh and I got 6 or 7 shrimp. If you want a realistic MX seafood dining experience, this is the place.

Owner/ chef is very friendly and service oriented. He speaks great English and very welcoming. He gave me delicious gauc & chips on the house! And I quickly devoured it. Had the fried shrimp tacos and grill fish tacos... again, I inhaled the food because it was cooked and seasoned well and delicious! So glad I found this place! Worth the walk! That tamarind sauce is like crack. Delicious and reminds me of the sauce in Indian restaurants back in the states. Would come again for the fresh delicious food and hospitality! Thanks chef!

I’ve been in Cozumel for 10 days, and I have eaten in more than 12 restaurants. This is without a doubt the best seafood on the island. It’s a small place on a corner with super friendly staff. The chef came out to greet us and explain the special. I highly recommend the Iowa platter. It’s the best deal in town. Local lobster, fish, shrimp prepared three ways, octopus, rice, guacamole...all for a super reasonable price. The margarita was to die for. Also, it’s super strong. And it cost a fraction of what the tourist trap restaurants will charge. We were blown away by this place. If you want an authentic experience, killer food, and friendly faces all at an unbeatable price - this place is for you.

This tiny family-run place was right near our B&B, and we enjoyed it so much we ate there twice in a week. Each time, they brought yummy guacamole to start. We tried their shrimp, octopus and fish tacos, and all of them were perfectly prepared (though you may want to ask for lime with the fish tacos), and their homemade dairy-free horchata was quite yummy as well. Given the quality, US2 per taco was a steal! (ETA: Their shrimp ceviche is also top-notch.)

Meal comes with tasty fresh guacamole. Ceviche was fantastic. We asked for tortillas instead of deep fried chips.
